After market alarm

I had asked a few installers at car toys in my area about this and didnt really get anywhere. I was wondering how hard it would be to put in and after market alarm on our cars since they have the keyless door/start. They had told me when they had done it in the past they werent having the best luck. I would like to keep it just how it is but have and alarm and maybe remote start be it from my cell phone or maybe use the factory fob. Thanks in advance.

I had mine done on an MT with no problems to date with over 3.5years, remote start with viper 5701 alarm with proximity, level, smash ect sensors and i still have my factory fob and everything work as it used to.

I can use either or, during daytime i usually just use the stock fob to lock/unlock using door handle and when im in a new area/extended stay or at night then i turn on the AM alarm.

Not really sure what kind of answer youre looking for but MANY cars with push button/ikey system have AM alarms with remote starts with no problems, just look around and you should find a confident installer who is willing to do this. You can get the viper with that smart start app so you can use your phone to do everything

Thats pretty much what im looking for, i want to add an alarm for added protection. How did they get the remote start on the factory fob? And it works just like mine currently does? Ill have to ask around to some other installers and shee what they can do. Car toys had just told me that they had issues with ikey/doors loosing sync or something and not disarming aftermarket alarm. Where do you live?

i think there's some misunderstanding... i can arm/disarm the alarm with my OEM fob but i cant remote start with it, i have to use the separate viper remote for that.
