2008 G35S Sedan

Ok, I have the Bose system + navigation and I have a few questions.

What speakers are in the door? Without opening it up, I see 3 possible locations.
Down low, it's got to be a sub of some size because the amount of bass that I have up front is crazy. On top of the door is another speaker(maybe a midrange) and in the sail is a spot for a tweeter. I'm looking to get some aftermarket components to add to/replace what I have.

Also, I havent seen the first 08 with an aftermarket HU. Do they not make the kits for these? I am worried that the Bose unit will limit the volume on my 2 amps, because at stock, I can turn it all the way up at max and I feel it could go much further.

I'm about to start my enclosure build for my subs. I already have a sub amp. I plan on using an audiocontrol LC2i to add my front stage and sub amps to my system. Do you guys see me having the above stated issues with the HU?

Bose does limit output but if you tap pre-amp on the bose you should be fine, search here and there are a couple threads with detailed info and pretty much a diy.

The front door has a 10" sub which is as thin as a plate so replacing it straight up would not be much of an option form what i see

Thanks a lot for the response. Yes, I saw the diy sticky on adding an amp by tapping into the wires feeding into the Bose amp. I just wasn't sure if after that what, 12th bar(?), on the HU, that my volume would still increase or not, for the front stage and sub amps. If so, I will probably have to adjust my gains higher than usual.

Wow, a 10" sub in the doors. I imagine it's very similar, if not exactly the same, as the one in the rear deck. If I do replace it, I will probably make an adapter plate and install some DD 6.5 subs in there, or possibly, HAT imagine 6" subs. That still leaves me with the mids and tweets in the doors. Any idea what size they are? I think I just might have to open them doors up to get a pretty good idea.

I think its a 1" tweeter and 3" mid but dont quote me on this since i havent actually measured em and am just estimating the size of what i saw when i had the panel removed long time back.

yeah, the mid looks rather small. I have the service manual and taking these doors apart doesnt look bad at all.
I'll take a look at it, thanks
