The AV control unit is the actual unit I was referring to earlier. It sits on the back of the radio and controls the HVAC/Display/Etc.

It still sounds like something went bad but i'm surprised you get the screen at all now. Did you notice anything out of place when you disassembled everything? You really shouldn't since you never took it apart before. I will say though that mine randomly shuts down and reboots. I think infiniti must have some issues with the units.

Didnt see anything out of place really but I dunno lol. I ordered the buttons thing and the unit behind it so I hope it fixes it. If not then I have no idea what to do lol

All you need is the radio unit, which has the circuit board for the entire system. This should fix your problems. It did for me

Yes, this includes all the HVAC controls radio/cd control. This is common failure on G35

EDIT: I completely misread your first post that included yours is a 2008... Sorry bro. I don't know the answer to this.

I actually would think that's the problem. I would have to look at the harness diagram in the shop manual to be sure but that's likely it. I'd imagine the pinouts are slightly different for the audio. I'm surprised you were able to plug the harnesses back in. I would have thought they'd be keyed differently.

Sorry I know this post is old. What exactly was your problem? My radio, ac , and Display screen went off and ac goes into auto. I change the audio fuse under the hood and it all comes back until i hit a speed bump or some times just randomly it will blow the fuse again. Any info will be greatly appreciated .
