I know there has been a lot of info on ipod interface on this site and the web but I still haven't found any information to help with this problem. Basic info: I have an 07 G35s sedan with factory Bose upgraded sound system and XM radio, no Nav. I have tried the factory ipod interface box and harness connected to the SAT harness that went to the XM receiver. The ipod would play tracks of 1 playlist but I can not change playlist but artist is displayed and can skip songs. I added the adapter so it would charge and nothing changed. Not my idea of convenient. What would be the best way to be able to control your ipod from your radio. I was trying to see if I could upgrade the 07 unit to the 08 so that I could used the factory harness as well. I'm almost ready to order a holder from proclip and run it to the av cables in the console because I'm getting fed up.

 

sounds like you got a bad/cheap unit. The iSimple ones aren't too bad, I've had pretty good luck with those.

 

I don't think it was cheap because they are original dealer parts, I think it's because the year of my G. Being an 07, it's the first year they had the in dash screen and the software is different than the previous units. That's why I'm thinking it won't let me access playlist like the older units would but I feel like I have heard others say it worked and that's why I tried this route. Other people have used this set up on 03-06 and it works well, playlist, artist, etc. access.
