Different tires on G35 Sport Sedan?

On tirerack.com, the only result for the 2007 G35 Sport Sedan is
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A

Excuse my ignorance, but don't other manufacturers make tires that will fit the stock wheels and work well with this car?

Thanks,
Dan

This issue with the sport tires is that the front 225/50/18 is not a common size while the rear 245/45/18 size has quite a few options available. In order to keep the staggered set up you could go with 235/50/18's up front and the stock 245/45/18 out back, this combo has a few matching UHP/HPAS sets available (toyo, cooper, etc).

I plan on doing this next fall, it doesn't get too cold here in NC but the RE050 compound is not well suited for near freezing temps, so no sense in taking chances.

wow. that's too bad about the lack of availability of the front tire size. going up to a 235 may make the car push more, which it already does a tiny bit too much imo.

Here's a thread that I started the other day with a few pics:

Consider a 235/50-18 front and a 255/45-18 rear. The rolling radii are better matched than with a 245/50 rear, and there's a good variety available on Tire Rack including the Kumho ASX all-season. According to the specs on the TR website, the 7 1/2" and 8 1/2" rims will accomodate these sizes. Only downside is speedo will read about 2% lower than with the OEM sizes.

...how on earth is this a "tech" article? I don't really like this (new?) more intense categorization of forums...I liked only having to look in one place about things I care about, but on G35driver.com alone i have to sift through 5 or 6 different forums before being satisfied I've wasted enough time learning unnecessary things
