Brake Squeak
Brake Squeak
Is anyone else hearing excessive break squeak? I've been having it for about 4 months now. I am in stop-n-go traffic all the way to work ~14 miles and it will do it if I apply the brakes light. It does seem to go away some after they are warm/hot. Any thoughts or recommendations on how to get rid of it? I had the dealer look at it last oil change, and (of course) it did not do it. My G35 (sport) has ~10K miles on it.

i got the same problem, when my brakes are cold and i back out of my drive way, i hear a the same thing, my dealer told me its the brake pads wearing in but i have 15000 miles on it. any one else have the same issue??
yeah, it has been happening to me too. but when i took it into the dealership to get my ikeys replaced they couldn't emulate the brake squeaking. when i drove a technician around, of course it didn't happen so i left without any fixes to the brakes. but oddly, after the visit, the brakes haven't squeaked since...kow.
btw, there are several threads on this topic already. do a quick search. good luck...

Squeeky brake pad replacement
I had the same issue. My car has done this off on on since I got it in Dec 06 (I have about 12k mi now). Every time I took it in for oil changes, the dealer could never replicate it. So, they told me it was normal.
Last week, it was happening fairly regularly. (Don't know if it's related, but we've had weeks of hot, dry weather.) So I made an appointment and took a tech for a ride. Luckily they squeeked at the first stop! He agreed it wasn't normal.
When they called back, they said the metallic content of the pads was too high, and they would replace my front pads. So far 250 miles, no squeeks and still have the great breaks I had to start!
