I'm a delivery man for my dad. Helping my dad with his business. I asked for a cheaper car (VW GTI) but they wouldn't let me drive around a "unreliable" car... and might as well spend a bit more and ride with style. Oh and the car is about 6 months and 2 weeks old.

I do a lot of long trips at least 3 times a week so I'm pretty much glad I got the G35... but kinda sad to see so much mileage rack up so fast... At least it's fun to drive it.

Wow.
Are you serious? Do you really believe this?
Have you ever really looked at performance summer tires treadwear ratings? They're mostly 140. There's a reason why their performance summer tires. They have more friction. More friction means faster wear.

The RE050A is not JUST an OEM tire. It's also a commonly purchased aftermarket performance tire. Perhaps not as popular as it's "better" pole position RE050A, but it's a pretty good performance tire. Yeah, it sucks that it doesn't last very long, but you didn't buy a touring car. You bought a performance sport sedan.

It wasn't the best choice for fuel economy but it's not a biggie.

SO i guess i should consider running over some nails. I guess thats what i have decided, just have to do it on myu next day off cause i figure ill be at the dealer all day waiting on a tow truck/flat bed bringing my car into the shop. suCKS, BUT since i have this stupid tire package for 12 buks extra a month, thats almost 500 for the 3 year lease, i should deffinately get something out of it. I may try and cancel it and get reimbursed, thats what im goin to try and do monday atleast.

My rear OEM 18" Potenzas lasted me 25k miles and then I decided to get new wheels. I'd say the fronts still had 10k miles left on them.

You can go with 225/45/18 fronts and 245/45/18 rears to open up many more tire options, many sport drivers have done this w/ no probs. I've seen Nankangs online for about $80-85 apiece for HP summer tires.

or i am probably going to get the 01-Rs

My daughter has 21000 on her 2007 G35 Sport and I have almost 15000 on my 2007 G35 Sport. We still both have lots of tread left. The only reason I could see replacing them before 30000 would be to get all season tires since these are dangerous in the snow and slush. I had to drive about 40 miles in 5-6 inches of wet snow and it was scary. I almost lost control 3-4 times and that was driving under 40 miles an hour on the highway. I have driven in snow quite often in the past and this was the worst and it was definitiley the tires.

the manufacture explicitly states that the potenzas should not be used in weather that is colder then 40 F. the rubber gets really hard and looses a large amount of traction.
