For some reason one of my LED lights in the inner ring of the left tail light is out, and another seems to have a short as it seems to turn off intermittently. I'm thinking that its just a loose connection since its only a 2007 and LEDs should last a ridiculously long time.

So I tried to change the bulb. Figured out that I had to take the entire light housing off, and thats where I got stuck. There are three screws on the back of the housing. I took them off, but cannot manage to get into the housing. As far as I can tell the back and front are fused together (maybe to keep moisture out?).

So does that mean you have to replace the entire unit if one LED goes out? Seems kinda stupid to me, or maybe I'm just missing something. Anyone had one of these LEDs go out?

That should be a warranty issue. You can't replace those bulbs.

yes the whole thing is one piece dealer will have to replace but I think those r covered only for 1 year, i may be wrong.

Should be under warranty, let the dealer replace it for you.

The lights are all connected to one piece? Wow. That's stupid. I just found out from my friend today that one of my inside brake LEDs is out, while the one next to it is flickering. I was hoping to save the trouble of going to the dealership and just buy the OEM LED replacements myself.

My car is 1yr and 9 months old, with 18k miles on it. Will warranty still cover it? I'm shocked the bulbs (LEDs, too!) are going bad in less than 2 years.

It should still be covered I think. They replaced mine under warranty and it was 1+ year.

The strange thing is, it must be a loose connection or something, or the individual LEDs are going haywire. The two particular LEDs sometimes light up fine, stay lit up, then flicker or turn off. It's so unpredictable. If I go to the dealers and they say the lights are fine, then it'll just be a waste of my time.

I wish they were designed so I can easily swap out the LEDs myself.

Mine was doing practically the same thing. I had one that flickered and one that was out all the time. I really wish you could change out the LEDs individually, but I can see why they want the housing to be sealed to prevent moisture from entering. Besides, this way they can charge you $145 for a brake light when your warranty runs out.
