new tires

I have a '07 G35x, and I need to change my fronts because they are worn. But the back tires are good for another 5-7 K miles. I have the stock Goodyear Eagles and plan to change to Komho tires. I was wondering does it matter if I buy 2 new Komho tires and mount them in the front? Does the different tread design affect the traction and handling (especially since I have a AWD)? Do I need to change all of the tires?

I'd be careful with off-brand tires. I haven't had good experiences with Badyear or Maypop.
However, if you are looking into Kumho, you shouldn't have a problem with AWD as long as you replace with the same size tire. In the future, you should rotate your tires so you can replace them all at the same time.

it may possibly cause damage to your tranny... when i had my pathfinder, which was an AWD, the owner's manual specificaly said not to use different tires

yeah you're generally discouraged from changing only your front tires, though changing only your back tires has less of an issue. this is for a reason i knew but forgot..
