07 G35S brake pad life - are you kidding me?!?

Let me explain - in my last few cars (last two were Maximas), I replaced brake pads pretty frequently, due to "spirited driving..." At a guess, a set of pads would last 25k or so, although the last set of Hawk pads have lasted longer.

In the G it's even more spirited, including a track day, so after 16k miles I bought replacement pads. Today wandered out to the garage and pulled a wheel off, ready to replace the pads (rotors look great).

And there's still half of the pads left! This may not be surprising to you, but based on my experience I'm thrilled! Gotta love the G brakes

Apparently I've been babying it too much...

Thumbs up Same Here

I'm planning on tracking my car at the end of the month, so I checked my pads last week. To my amazement I had 7mm remaining in front and 6mm in the rear. This is with 15K miles and a couple of track days on these pads. I've also been known to do some spiritual driving.

Here's the specifications on the pads and rotors for the sport and non-sport brake systems if anyone's interested....

my sentra ser specv pads were this way. numerous 100+mph slowdowns and several spirited (on par of road racing segments in the rural areas) after 30k miles. had 40% left.

sounds like the G pads are the same way!

I have an 05 6mt sport and with 55k I have 8mm in the front and a little over 4mm in the rear (time to change the rears soon).

The pads may be lasting a long time.

But, mine squeak like a ****. For the last 8k miles or so, under very light braking, they'll squeak probably 1/4 of the time. Very annoying.

Mine lasted 39k and it's still fine!
I'll have to see how much I have left... I should just change it.
