yea, you'd either be a tad short or a tad tall. on my 19s, I wished I'd have tried out some 285/35/19s in the rear. The 275s fit perfectly but I can't help but wonder how the 285 would've fit..... it would be approx. 1/2" wider, pretty much same height, not even a quarter difference. but honestly, the 275s are probably the perfect fitment with my offset. still, i'd like to try it. these 275s just grip like a mother in the corners...

what is it about always wanting more...

Hold on. You mean 7.5" and 8.5" can share the same tire size? :-O

One more thing, the max width I can put on the rear 8.5" wheels is 255 and the front 7.5" wheels is 245. Are you sure about this?

By using the mfg's recommendations, you can use the same size front and rear but it's probably not going to be as wide as you'd like.

you may be limited to a 235 front and 255 rear. all you have to do is find the tire or size your interested and look at the specs. There's a 'Rim Width Range' listed for every tire and this is the min. and max. width allowed for a tire.

Can you put a smidge wider tire on 7.5" wheel; you probably could but it's not recommended and can sometimes increase tire wear. Most people think those rim widths are for safety but really it's the mfg's recommended widths to obtain ideal wear on the tire, outside of that range, it's probably going to have too much roll on the sides of the tread or something.

So, using that logic, the mfg. says the 235 is as wide as you can put on the front rim, but you can probably get by with a 245, but it's at your own risk. Honestly, it probably won't affect a lot, it just won't be quite as square on the sides. one thing it will do is protect the wheel more.

Look at the attachment for an example.

Actually if you go to http://www.tirerack.com/ and punch in 245/45/18 size tire and go to the specs of most manufacturers, it will say the recommended rim width is 7.5" to 9"

I'm running 235/50 front and 255/45 rear on Sport wheels - looks great. There's a thread around here somewhere, will look for it...

Here it is:

I like the look of the non-stretched tires over the stretched look... i like a nice square look.

I'm probably going to go with 235/50/18 F and 255/45/18 R.

Sumitomo HTR Z III tires on tirerack got great reviews. And they're only $135 each for the front and $163 each for the rear. It'd save me over $300 compared to the Goodyears I was looking at.

You can run 245/45/18s all around on stock rims. I have 245/45/18 front and 255/45/18 on my stock rims and it is fine. I posted pics of my installed tires (BF Goodrich GForce A/S) a while back if you are interested.
