It shouldn't be a problem for speedo since the speed sensor is either in the tranny or the diff.

But the same size tires on an inch narrower wheel will look a bit more bloated and tall.

i have 245 fronts and 275 rears, the 235/355 scenario wouldn't be a problem but it sounded to me like he was wanting all 4 to be the same.... I wouldn't go wider in the front than the rear, but the sport rears are 245/45/18 and you could fit those on the front except the sport front wheel is 7.5" wide and I think you need an 8" or wider to fit the 245's.

no, I'm running aftmkt wheels, but I was just making the point that there's room up front for 245/45s, which is what the rear size is, the limit is the wheel width. But, I don't think I'd run anything narrower than a 245 in the rear so that kind of limits what you can do. Not that I'm recommending it, but you could probably run a 245/45 on the front of a stock 8" sport wheel, it just might wear a tad bit quicker due to it rolling the sides a slight bit more than the recommended 8.5" wheel.

Pretty limited on an 8.5" wheel. 255/40/18 is probably all your gonna get.

The front wheel on the sport is 7.5" wide. A 245/45/18 would be the max you could put on the front rim, you would not want to go any wider.

I have run 255s all around but that was with 8.5" rims.

so you ran 255s on the front? what was the aspect, 40s? And this is on an 18" wheel I'm assuming.

Yes I ran 255/40/18 Michelin PS2 all around on my 8.5" x 18 PIAA rims. They were a bit small on the outside diameter though, but I never had any issues other than my speedo being out a bit.
