Brakes

I was told at my last oil change by the dealer that my rear brakes are on their way out at 28k miles so I am planning on getting these changed. The question is, should I get them replaced at an infiniti dealer or should I use my local mechanic? I am planning on buying these pads online so that should save me some money.

Have any of you done your brakes? I am surprised that at 30k, the pads are almost gone as I can hear grinding/screeching noises when I brake.

You should change them yourself, changing disc pads is really easy. And it's not way surprising that your pads are gone at 30k, I'm expecting to have to renew then too. At 20k they're about 1/2 way through, and considering how I drive I'm delighted
