Question about rim size for G35x 07 - Tenzo rims

Hey Guys - Just a quick question (sorry if this has been answered already).

Can I run 19x10 rims on an 07 G35x and have no problems?

This is the rims that im looking at:

19x10s only come in +22. This will fit a Z or G35 coupe, but won't work on our cars.

The only size that would work on our cars is 19x8.5 +45 at all 4 corners. However, this is too conservative of an offset and you would want to run at least 10-20mm spacers to get the rims pushed out enough to get a flusher look.

Additionally, the version with a +45 offset won't have close to the cool concave look that the 19x10 +22 version has.

Very interesting. Thanks guys.

So no on the 19x10's eh? I mean, I dont mind having 19x8.5's but I prefer wider if possible. And I do prefer that concave look..hmmmm....

19x10s are very doable on G35/x. You just need the right offset. You can run anywhere from a 19x10 +50 to +40 or even +35 if you want to run more negative camber or 255 width tires.

It's just that the rims you chose don't come in the correct offset for our cars.

So these "specific" rims I cant run on 19x10's but other rims with different offsets I can?

Or are there ways to correct the offsets of these particular rims that I am intersted in? thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it.

Not really. You can make the rim move further out by adding spacers, but with 19x10 +22 rims, they already stick out way too much so you need to somehow move the rim further inwards. The only way to do it is to mill the surface of the rim where it meets the hub. But, this is usually not recommended and if done, you only want to take off a few millimeters. In this case, you would need to mill at least 15mm off the rim and that would not be doable at all.

Bottom line - either get the 19x8.5 +42 or get another rim. By the time you've made all these modifications to make it fit, you would have spent way too much money and you still would have a set of fairly cheap Tenzos.

You may as well pony up some cash and splurge for some Advans like these:

Advan RZ:

Advan RS:

Advan Model T5 (I like this one - looks like the rims on an Audi R8):

Advan Kreuzer Vi:

These will get you that concave look w/ the proper offsets for a G35 AND would net you a much higher quality rim. Of course, it will also cost you about $2.5K to $3K for a set of rims only vs. $1.5K for the Tenzos...

Hey thanks so much for the informative response! I really appreciate it.

The Advan Model T5's looks really nice! it does look like the R8 rims. But the price has "R8" pricing too..haha

I actually like the Advan RZ's.. there is a recent post with those rims and they look really really nice.

I wish I had the dough to spend on these rims.. but for the price of the Tenzo's, they are pretty damn nice though. Also my car is currently leased right now, and I dont know if I will be keeping my car after the 4 yr lease cuz of the high gas prices. I dont know if its smart to be spending so much on mods.. and yet here I am, making mods! hehe :P
