Just a thought of tires.

Since we are RWD, why don't we just put a set of extreme grip tires on our rims? By extreme grip I mean the rear is horizontal cut and the front is vertical cut.
Any agreement, disagreement on this ?

i don't know about the cut of the tire, but i think for DRY conditions its the compound of the rubber that matters the most on grip.... The cuts would matter more for rain/snow/loose dirt/gravel....

Plus the rear axles also help the car stay on course.... and avoid fishtailing off course in the rain

I brought this up because I saw these tires on professional drag cars. I am talking about drag cars with huge rear wheels that push down 3000+ hp.

A few reasons why you wouldn't want to do this:

1. If you ever drive in the rain.... you'll die.
2. With the super soft rubber compound of drag tires, they'll only last about 1,000 miles. You'll get about 3,000 miles out of BFG drag radials, and 5k miles out of Nitto drag radials.
3. We don't have 3,000 hp and don't need that traction.
4. If you did have enough power to need the drag tires, you'd hook up and break either the transmission, rear end, or both. This car isn't built for that kinda power.

I don't think I've seen drag tires that just have horizontal grooves. Typically, the 3,000hp cars don't have grooves at all.

The closest to horizontal I've seen is this:
