Rear replacement brake pads have an unsed tab

I just replaced the rear pads on my 2007. I bought the Axxis/PBR pads. It seems there is a tab the size of a Tylenol capsule in the center shim side of the pad.

The OEM shim doesn't have a hole for this tab. I don't have a grinder so I had to cut out the shim to accomodate.

Wondering if maybe the 2006 and earlier Gs had this tab and Axxis forgot to modify? BTW the new shim hole doesn't affect the brakes.

FYI

Yup, sounds like a mistake on PBR's side, either in design or they have a mistake on part #'s.
I used Bendix Ceramics... Part # D905CT

They were an exact twin to the OEMs and fit absolutely perfect.
