Ordering my H&R springs - some questions??

I finally got to place the order for my H&R springs on my 08 Sedan. However, I would like to confirm if I ordered the right part.

According to their application on their website 03-08 sedan has part#53036. However a different part # for the 09 sedan which is #53031. I know that most people have been using the previous generation springs of H&R's for their 07+ sedans w/o any issue. But I was just wondering if the new application for the 09 sedan would be more compatible to my 08 sedan since both are second generation sedans.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks!

i think the new springs are better for the new sedan. the older springs will sag more.

That's exactly what I was thinking too! Because our sedans are more similar to the 09 G37 Sedans than the 03-06 G35 sedans.

However, when I contacted H&R and STILLEN to confirm this, both places told me that the 03-08 sedan part would be more suitable for my 08 sedan. The guy from H&R told me that the G37 sedans have different spring mount than the 08. The rep from STILLEN told me that there are different weight distribution in the 09 G37 sedans that is different from the 07 and 08 sedans.

I am thinking they both just gave me the run around since they weren't exactly sure and were too lazy to actually research and provide the approperiate answers.

Still searching for the right answers..

^ Are you running camber kit in the rear?
If not, how is the camber in back?

I'm not familiar with the H&R's, but I'm sure the G37 sedan springs use exactly the same mounts as the 2007+ G35 sedan's and 2008+ G37 coupes. I've already confirmed this with Eibach when I was checking with them to see if the G37 coupe springs would work on my 2008 sedan. They said that they have actually installed a few sets of coupe springs on the sedans and they work without any problems, however the spring rates are about 15% stiffer for the coupe springs, due to the coupes extra weight and more performance oriented drivers, so you can definitely exepct a little stiffer ride. The soupe springs will also provide slightly less drop in the sedan than in the coupe... which is the main reason I'm gonna try the Eibach G37 coupe springs on my sedan. I imagine that the H&R springs for the 2009 G37 sedan would give you similar results.

I picked up the springs today. I am still not sure if I should keep em or exchange them for the 09 sedan ones (Part#53031) instead.

It's very frustrating that H&R reps cannot give me a definitive answer regarding their own product and its application.

Yeah, I know what you mean... Most companies you call aren't very helpful at all... It was a big surprise when I call Eibach and they were as helpful as they were... It actually made me want to buy something from them. LOL

Incidentally, J2S2M, you should have talked to Travis (KulG35 on here)... I think he may be selling his H&R springs since he'snow on TEIN coilovers.

I appreciate the heads up, but I just picked up the H&R springs for the 03+ sedans (Part#53036) this past Saturday. Since I did not have a definite answer on the compatibility of the new G37 sedan part, I just went ahead w/ the part that many 07-08 sedan owners have already tried just to be safe. However, I don't think I will install the springs until I get some rear camber kit at least.. but I am really glad that I picked up the springs at a great price! I also finally picked up my STILLEN gen 3 intake which has been on backorder for almost a month.

I can't wait to get em all installed! WOO HOOOOO~!!!

BTW your car is lookin better and better. Keep up the good work, siR!

No problem, man... You will love the look once you get them on!!! But you will definitely need the rear camber kit, so your smart to wait on the camber kit... Travis tore up his rear tires from running these springs without the rear camber kit.

FYI... I used the Ichiba rear camber kit on my G. It's vitrually exactly the same as the SPC's one we put on Travis' car, but they are almost $100 cheaper. Give Rick a cll at Riverside Infiniti... he can get them for you pretty cheap.

Oh yeah, and thanks for the compliment... I'm very happy with it so far... Still need to post some pics of it after the drop. Hopefully I'll have time tonight or tomorrow.

I have that same issue, I got my order in today and the paper says 03-06 and the website says 03-08. I'm guessing it should be the same. I got it off eBay. Looks really nice though and I can't wait to put them in.

Does anyone know if a camber kit is necessary for these lowering springs?

Yes, see 2GoRNot2Gs' post just a couple posts up ^^
H&Rs are one of the lowest spring drops, you'll probably need rear toe bolt kit too, my B&G S2s were about the same drop & I needed the whole F&R camber kit along w/ rear toe bolts.
