Ordered my new tires

Well i finally got the nerve to order up 2 new front tires. the negative camber had the inside shoulders wore smooth on both sides(inside and out since i swapped sides to double their lifespan).

Ordered the Nitto NT555. 225/35/20................................................ ....................I had Falken fk452 245/35/20

features:
Directional tread design
Tread pattern is designed for high-speed stability and superb cornering performance
High tread block rigidity secures stable contact with the road under all driving conditions
High-grip compound delivers superior mobility on both wet and dry surfaces, while ensuring a high level of anti-wear performance
Z Performance Rated, Treadwear 300, Traction and Temperature A

Its the only tire in that size they would mount on and warranty. they said the falkens in that size were not rated to the load capacity of my car.

anyways they look nearly the same as the falkens on the side profile. and i have heard they are good tires.

best thing is, since i will now have a stretched tire on the rim, i am getting camber arms to straighten them up without fear of rubbing........(anyone have a link to the best place to get a set of camber arms for the front?)

should look good to being close to flush!

How did you like the FK452's? I have a set coming in soon.

Interesting choice 225/35/20...so narrow!

Also, 225/35/20 FK452 load rating not up to par?? I don't think they even make the FK452 in that size.

loved the falkens, they ride real smooth and quiet and have EXCELLENT performance rain/dry. they are ideal in temps above 50degrees.

narrow because i want to get the camber kit and maybe another 5mm of spacer to get the rim flush with the fender. it would rub with a 245.

yea falken makes them. see the thing is, the shop just had to buy my friend another 5000dollar set of rims since they knicked each rim. and they messed up the bead on 3 tires trying to mount them improperly.....they were falkens, so they wont warranty stretched falkens anymore lol.

You better get pics up! Should be awesome, were you falkens worn out or just wanted a change because of the warranty? How would you compare the 452s to the stock potenzas?

due to the neg camber i run, the inside shoulders wore out at 12000miles, then i swapped the tires to the opposite side rims to double the lifespan.

well those inside shoulders(former outters) wore out as well. i got total of 24000miles on them. Funny thing is that the middle of the tread in between both shoulder blocks have 50-60% tread left lol. but the noise they make once the shoulders are worn is too much, and wet driving is semi-sketchy.....so......new tires it is.

i would rate the stock potenzas as a 7 outta 10. decent for your typical driving needs. but to much flex in corners and not enough sticky grip for your accel and deccel needs.

the falkens are around a 9 out of 10. EXCELLENT performance tire. in temps above 50 they prove to get stickier with every 10degrees. straightline accel and deccel traction is outstanding. tireflex is non existant on profiles under 40. and wet traction is outstanding! roadnoise is pretty much nonexistant when tread is over the 40% mark.

.........
FWIW....
IMO, one of the best things you can do to help reduce tire wear is dial out some of the Toe.
I had inside wear on my dropped '04
& when I dialed my toe out I got nice even tire wear.
I had them set the fr. toe as close to 0.00 as possible w/o going negative.
I ended up at 0.01
I also reduced the rear toe so that it was just within OE spec.

Not only did it get rid of the tire wear issue...
The car felt so much better on the road,
much more agile feeling, but still nicely planted.

cool, so when i go to get the alignment done, specify that they get the toe as close to zero as possible?

if it reduces the wear on the tires, i should be able to get almost 30k miles out of the fronts and 25k out of the rears.

ask and you shall recieve 20mm spacers(effectively a 20mm offset)....225 tire

before 10mm spacers(effectively 30mm offset) 245 tire

before that...no spacers(40mm offset) 245 tire
