Summer Tires

Hi everyone,

I just switched my winters off my car this weekend and realized that I definitely need to switch the OEM RSAs off my car.

The tire place that did the swap recommended an Eagel ResponsEdge. But at $182 a tire they seem to be pricey compared to the fact that I can get Eagle F1s from TireRack for about the same price.

I saw the General Exclaim UHP on there for under $100 a tire. Anyone try this and have any comments? I am thinking about these but may just end up getting the Eagle F1s.

I don't know what kind of driving you do, but I will say that I am not that impressed with my Goodyear Eagle F1's. I've heard a lot of complaints about them being noisy. They are not noisy on my car (even after 10k miles), but they don't handle nearly as well as the OEM Bridgestones that came on the car. The Eagle F1's really handle well in the rain, but I don't like them very much on the dry pavement.

Thanks for the info. For the price of these General Exclaims I don't think I can go wrong. They are ranked 4th among UHP Summer tirers.

I had General Exclaims before, one of the best tires i've ever had. And not "just for the price". It grips well wet or dry and is also relatively quiet up to 50k when i sold the car with it. If it was available in the size i need now, i'd have gone for it. I went with the Falken FK 452s this time around.

General Exclaim UHP are good tires and they will last you a long time! just get the road hazard program with it you know just in case. i just put these tires on my stock 18" wheels and they ride smooth as hell but then a week later i bought new rims with Toyo proxes which are also good tires just go to td4l.com or something like that and they have it for around 100 a tire

While breaking in, the Falken's can get a bit slippery. Around the 800-1k mark they started to grip quite well and just keeps on gripping regardless of road condition. They're also relatively quiet, and even much quieter then the OEM Potenza's. I have, almost 15k on the Falken's right now and they're wearing evenly. At the current rate, i estimate being able to wring out another 20k-25k out of this set.

I have the Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics, and agree with everything in this post. Will not buy them again.

Try the new goodyear eagles. I have them for winter and think they are perfect. Cheap too.

I have Dunlop Winter Sport M3s now for winter. I was looking for a summer tire. If you mean the Goodyear Eagle RSAs, I don't like them that much, have them on right now.

I think I am going to go for the Exclaims.

I put some Yokohama SDrives on. 206 a pop for some 245/40/19s. So far so good. You can find them on TireRack.
