Caliper Question

I have a 2007 G35S

On Thursday my brakes were making very loud grinding noises and so today we opened them up and one side was completely to the metal ON both sides on the rears.

I had the rotors resurfaced and bought new pads..

My question is are the Calipers supposed to be different? They are not identical in size on both sides of the rears - one is side is bigger than the other - is this normal??

If the rear left caliper is different in size than the rear right caliper, then that is not normal. If you are referring to the different in size of the caliper between the front and back axles, then that IS normal. Post pics of what you mean.

The brakes are put back together so I cannot post pics.

It is between the axles but it is the same on both sides, it is just that both sides have one caliper that is different in size than the other.

I am probably not explaining this very well.

Your initial post was crystal clear, your rear calipers appear different. That isn't right, and you should be bringing the car back to where you bought it. Let them make it right or explain it.

Are you saying that when looking at the side of the car, the calipers are not the same size?
For example, the front driver's side is a different size compared to the driver's rear?

Or are you saying that the rear driver's side is diferent than the rear passenger side?

Like others have said, the rear calipers are supposed to be the same size. I have the Akebone BBK and the fronts are the same size but bigger than the rear rotors. Do you mean that the ROTORS are different sizes? Did they re-surface your rotors past acceptable/safe depths?
