Smile Fixed!!!!

I completed the test & drove her into work today.
I'm happy to say my vibration is GONE
The car was smooth as glass at freeway speeds, with no hint of any vibration.

...my problem specifically related to the combination of Ichiba V2 & OE sport wheels.

The main issue is with the OE wheels.
The chamfer on the wheel bore is MUCH deeper (larger) than most wheels.
As a result the hub on the Ichiba V2 doesn't extend far enough to engage the wheel bore.
Therefore it's possible for the wheel to be non-centric when you bolt it up.

I looked at a few aftermarket wheels, and the chamfer was MUCH shallower than the OE wheels.
IDK why they made the OE this way.

...also if the spacer hub had been a little longer, this also would not be a problem.
I'd say the problem really lies with Ichiba.
They should have investigated the OE wheel design during their product R&D.

This may or may not be the same with other manufacturers of hub-centric spacers.

.......NOW THE GOOD NEWS......................

I have a fix!!!!

I have a bunch of pics & will write up a DIY procedure on what I did to fix mine.
It's pretty straight forward & you shouldn't have to take the spacers off to do it.

I'll try to get it posted tonight.

That is great to hear Ian.
I'm curious as to what your fix was. Did you use a hub ring on the spacer to wheel ? I will be checking tonight .

I came up with a way to extend the hub of the spacer.
It's hard to explain w/o pics.

Is this only for Ichiba V2 spacers or all spacers? I am interested in getting spacers for my car and read the DIY: Wheel spacer vibration fix but want to know if I need to perform that for every spacer.

Thanks in advance!

The V2 is the only one documented right now.
Project Kics also use a 2 pc design when ordering hub-centric,
IDK if their hub is any longer or not.

....also remember, the problem is only with OE wheels.
& maybe not all OE wheels, ....IDK
Mine are the sport wheels.

It would be good to get a review from Mishmosh since him and I share the same M45 rims. Let us know what happens after you retorque your spacers!

^ i seriously doubt that retorque is the issue with vibration.

...same as when a wheel isn't torqued properly,
it may fall off or snap a stud, but generally it doesn't cause vibration.

Wes, if you were in town, I could help you with torquing.
