Why does the e-brake light come on under acceleration
My relative has some land up north along with long stretches of road so I thought why not have fun with my car for a little. I didn't do anything too wild with the car, just little bursts of acceleration here and there. Anyways, whenever I pressed hard on the gas I saw the ((!)) red light go on (the light which goes on when you have the e-brake engaged). This happened several times. Whenever it went on, I suddenly released the gas and then it went away - but, again, after I pressed hard on the gas it went back on. After all this, I turned off my car and restarted it and did the runs again. This time the light did not come on at all. What's going on
? What is it trying to tell me? The engine temperature was normal, my tires were well inflated, and the only thing I can think of that's wrong with the car is that my brakes are fading (steering wheel judders time-to-time). So yeah, I'm guessing it's the brakes, but I could be wrong. Any input?
Cliffs:
- e-brake light goes on under hard acceleration
- why?
- is it due to my brakes that are wearing?

My G has been pissing me off lately, I drive with my VDC off, under hard accelration from 0, I sometimes get slapped with the brake light coming on, the red "BRAKE" signal, then the yellow "SLIP" signal comes on permanently, UGHHH. Pisses me off, I have new tires on the car and at my next service I will ask them to look into it. All the more incentive to get the G37 once my lease ends
Rahul, I had that problem with my 07 , there are many posts on it.
Here was my cure : https://g35driver.com/forums/4272442-post4.html

That started happening to me as well. After some speculation, I found out that I needed new brakes.
Its either you need new brakes, or more brake fluid.
At first brake light will come on under heavy braking or heavy acceleration, and later on VDC will turn off.

I just started having these exact same problems. I did just have the dealership turn down my rotors since they somehow were warped, and this issue started shortly afterward.
I just ordered new tires from tirerack.com on Friday thinking they were the problem.
I guess I'll try topping off the brake fluid (it's between the min and max lines so I never suspected that could be the problem).

$5 later, replaced braked fluid tonight, drove with VDC on and not once did the "slip" & "brake" light come on.

Thanks AesonVirus, you are the man.
On a side note, when the dealers "top of all fluids" during service, what the **** are they doing, I service my car every 2 months (too much fun driving the car, and its just my weekend thang), I should never had this problem.
