rust? what rust?
EDP (Electro Deposition Paint) applied to all surface including inside crevices

Rotors are subject to rust, and most rotors are not protected against corrosion in early years. It is not uncommon to see a rusty rotor on a car dealer’s brand new show car. When we started our performance line about four years ago, we tried and experimented with various surface coatings, and found EDP (Electro-Deposition Paint) gives the optimal result in durability and cost.

Not only does EDP provide lasting protection against corrosion (lasting about 500 hours in a salt spray test, vs. 100 hours for common bright zinc plating), it has an appealing black look. In addition, it is environmentally friendly, unlike the cadmium or gold zinc plating (which uses hexavalent chromium) used by the competition.

lol... they were excellent!

...I should add;
I was waiting to see what 2pc rotors are available for the G37S setup before I order my Akebonos, but I caved.
Wish I knew if Racing Brake was come out with 2pc G37S rotors.
I just went with OE for now & change to RB later (I hope).

These are QUALITY rotors guys!

Wes, you gonna buy a torque wrench as well, or is someone else doing the install for you?
My torque wrench turned out to be the single most popular tool in my garage.

^ IIRC there are several brakes DIY Wes.

The 1st gen section is probably the best place to look. (same proceedure)

Check Crappy tire online sales flyer periodically .
They often have TQ wrenches on sale ( you just missed one a few weeks ago)

I picked up a Husky torque wrench from Home Depot. It's great, I think it was $80 bucks, which when you compare is a good deal. The thing feels really meaty in your hand and it has a LIFETIME warranty.

Craftsmen have had tons of problems, and I bought the $40 wrench off TireRack and returned it. Go for a good one, it'll last you a lifetime.

I'm EXTREMELY pleased with my Husky wrench. I'm also pleased with my aluminum floor jack I got from harbor freight tools - after sale and coupon I got it for less than $70 bucks.

www.harborfreighttools.com

they always have great deals, and the jack I have from them is so far of good quality. they also have some local stores

This is the torque wrench I have.
Expensive, but damn nice.
You can buy them used on eBay for about $100- but I would suggest calibration if you buy one)

I'm sorry I stuck my head into this thread... now I need even more coin for rotors. I'm tired of complaining again and again to my dealer just to have the same crappy rotors (and the problems they bring) put back on again.

You guys need to start marking thread titles with something like SDNLH-MMTBS
(Scott, do not look here - More money to be spent)

I'll think about these in the spring. No rush with Winter right around the corner.

The only way to keep yourself safe is to let Ian ban you from the site. haha Beyond that, your stuck spending your coin on your G.

damn scott - that's one expensive tq wrench! I guess all snap-on is pretty pricey though.

My Husky has all the same dimensions and tq settings and stuff (plus a rubber handle ) for like $80 bucks plus lifetime so I'd look at the Husky.

And always HFT - they have sick deals. Let me know if you get anything soon, they just emailed me a 20% off coupon I can forward over

Well, I got mine used and for a price that can't be beat. A guy at work traded the torque wrench for a 13" tv and a VCR. LOL
I think I got the better end of that deal.
