Anyone running the new Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports on their G's? If so, please provide some feedback.

I've got a set of the older RE750's on my Porsche and absolutely love them. They handle well, ride great, are very quiet, and have been on the car for over 5 years and the rears still have around 5/32 of thread, so they wear well.

I'm hoping these new RE760's will be very similar.

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. Are they the OEM tire on the IS, or did you put them on recently? Any kind of feedback specific to wear? I toasted my OEM RE050's in about 10K miles, so I'm looking for something that wears better this time around.

 

After going through a few different sets of tires, I finally stuck with RE050APP, but since those things do get a bit pricey at $250+ a piece, sometimes less, sometimes a bit more depending on where I order my tires from, considering I like a little camber, someone suggested I give the RE760 a try.

After one of my front tires wore through the metal a week and a half ago, I went looking for cheaper options. I have a full suspension set-up, and although I love going up to the mountains for a drive whenever I feel like it (hwy 9 is less than 5 min away from me), my G is my street car, my daily driver. So I decided to give up a bit of handling for better wear and lower cost. I was told these tires are the same compound as the RE050As, so comfort, etc... would be the same, but all I really cared about was the price difference.

So far, I have no complaints. Not much less of a tire than the RE050As, but they cost me half the price. Dry traction and wet traction are both good, unluckily not as good as the RE050As, but really not that much worse either. Comfort and noise is about the same as the RE050A, but this tire seems to like to chirp just a bit more. I still have RE050As on the rears, so I can't tell for certain until I change those out.

While I can't give a full comparison of these vs the RE050As yet, I can say I like these more than the old RE750 already.

 

Nah I had turanzas as oem...I picked them up last november and so far they still seem pretty good. IMHO best bang for the buck

I've had the Re750's on a couple of cars and have always been very happy with them, and based on what you have to say, Dofu, then I should be very happy with the RE760's. Plus, since this is my everyday driver, I just can't justify having to replace the tires every 10K miles.

 

Everything I have heard about the RE760's has been great. I don't have any personal experience, but I have talked to a lot of people, and read various reviews. I have stated this in some of the Falken threads, but everything I can find points to these being far superior to the Falken FK-452's, and they are close to the same price. I have also heard good things about the Hankook Ventus V12 (they actually finished well ahead of the RE760's in the attached test), and feedback from my "tire people" has been really good on both. I will be going with one of the above for my next tires.

I was actually considering the Yokohama S.Drive until I read this report. LOL

I've also heard very good things about the Hankook Ventus, and from this test, it seems that all of the good reviews are warranted. I think I'll stick with the Potenza RE760's, though, as I've been running Bridgestone tires for years and have had nothing but good experiences with them... plus, comfort, noise level, and tire wear are very important to me and it seems the RE760 is at the top of the list in all of those categories.

 

I don't think you can go wrong with the Bridgestone's. I have liked most of their tires I have had with the exception of the RE040. I was actually considering the S-drives as replacements for my Falken's, but I had a few people steer me away from them for various reasons. Keep us posted on how the RE760's work out. Like I said, I am going with those or the Hankook's when my current BFG KDW2's wear out.....

 

I liked their review of the Kumho. "Diabolical" lol

When my Falkens run out, I'm gonna try the Hankooks if I can get them at a decent price.

 

I can get them for about $100 less than the Falken FK-452's locally....

 

I've been running a set of the RE760 Sports for about 15K miles now, I'm very happy with this tire. It's a very solid all round tire, doesn't really stand out in any one category. When compared with the OEM RE050A you give up a little grip, but get about twice the mileage out of a set. After 15K miles, mine still have 5/32 of tread remaining. I hope to get 30K out of this set with regular rotations. At about 3/4 the price of the RE050A and twice the mileage you can't go wrong. I'll be buying this tire again.

Yeah, thanks for the great information, Mojo... I'm really glad to hear that the RE760's are wearing so much better then the OEM 050A's... that's one of the main reasons for me making the change.

Based on all the feedback I've gotten, I think I'm definitely gonna go with the RE760's... 245/35R20's up front, and 285/30R20's in the rear. Now I just need to decide on which wheels to go with.

 

Adrian, I have no personal experience with RE760's. However, I've also heard great reviews about the Hankook V12's from various tire experts that I know personally. Plus there is a 50 dollar MIR on the Hankook's currently.

I will be purchasing a set of these w/in a month or so.. so far best price I've found was 600 for four 245/40 19's mounted and balanced and tax included which is a great deal IMO. With the rebate I will end up paying about 550.

Seems like you are a faithful Bridgestone guy tho.. just wanted to share my thoughts
