I look online and see the pads retail for about $90!! Did I get ripped off??
The TSB pretty much recognizes that it is a rotor issue (not a brake pad issue) by directing the shop to resurface rotors under warranty. The fact that there is no consistency between dealerships and even service managers on this TSB repair is strange indeed.

I had all 4 rotors resurfaced (front & back), and expect to be refunded for the labor. You can probably get factory pads $25 or so cheaper (see infinitipartsusa.com or like) but dealer always overcharges if for parts and labor.

Does anyone have any particular recommendation (ie. actual experience with) aftermarket rotors for the 07/08 sedan w/sport brakes????? I've got 25k miles and judder too, and it's just getting worse; rather that play the whole dealership game on the stock rotors, I'd consider just biting the bullet and getting into something that will hold up in the long run. Anybody found a better replacement that has proven the test of time and (ab)use????

Thanks

I am looking into getting the Racing Brake rotors once time comes (see this thread) - preliminary reports have been good but I would like to hear from those who have put them on. Racing Brake is on the forum now as one of the vendors, too.

Ok, so due to pressure from Infiniti USA the dealer refunded me the entire cost of resurfacing rotors and even the front brake pad replacement.

Now, the steering wheel shakes at 65 mph+. I'm sure they'd be happy to see me back in there...

I have been hard on my brakes, (at times) but i am only at 17,000 and they are very good, no judder, no pulsating, and no squeaking,, however, when you mention steering shake, mine has it, over 65 up to around 85. had my tires balanced on a road force machine and i think one of my tires, (and rim) is subpar!! when i watched it spin on the machine it wiggled ever so slightly.

+1. Mine is currently in transit as we speak. I expect my rotors and hawk pads to arrive late next week

I had all 4 rotors resurfaced at 35k (at my expense). Im at 62k now and the shuddering is back when I brake during high speeds. Thank goodness for my racingbrake rotors coming in shortly. No more OEM rotor crap.

Yeah, I think it's a balancing issue as well - the shop that did my tire rotation did not do the balancing (will make sure I balance the wheels after every rotation now, despite the extra expense). Based on your experience, I will balance them in a tire shop I got my tires installed - in the event the tire is faulty, the Goodyear shop may be on the hook for a replacement. I've hit a few curbs parking though, so would not be surprised if there is rim damage (the latter would suck, but my rims are OEM stock 17s so not that big of a deal)

Please share your experience once you put them on!
