It is the same coating, for the most part, that Stop Tech and Brembo use. Is this better? Would have to imagine there rotors are somewhat decent.

You mean the "RB" specific 2-piece rotors are very unique in the industry, and not just 2-piece rotors, right....

Well, the money's actually not a problem, but we spent like 11G's in the past month on 2 partys and a new bed frame/Tempurpedic mattress, so she told me no parts for a while

Sounds like fun, San... When you gonna invite us out for one of those parties?

Just curious, but how do you like your Tempurpedic mattress? The wife and I are in the market for a new mattress and have been looking at those. We currently have a Sterns & Foster and loved it when we first got it almost 10 years ago, but it's become very saggy lately... Send me a Pm so we don't clutter a car thread with mattress talk. LOL

Possibly... I have looked at those, but am really fond of the EBC pads that I've had on my other cars.. Want something with minimal brake dust.

Markk,

You have an 07 G35S Sedan? Do you know your rotor size for the front so I can look into it?

Thanks.

Would certainly be nice if you did, i remember asking you guys in the past as well. Although, now i'm on the Akebono 2pc bandwagon.

Anyhow, the '07/08 sedan sport (front) rotors are 330mm x 32mm, or 12.99in x 1.260in.

& IIRC I think they're the same as the G37 Journey now.

^ I believe you are correct... I'm also pretty sure that the 370Z without the Sport package also uses these.

i really think this would be a great move for a lot of people here. lighter brakes without having to move to a BBK. its a win-win. lighter brakes + saving money that you would have spent on a BBK = yayy

Yea I know, I'm talking about those of us that have the stock brakes and have looked at getting the akebonos but don't want to spend the money on them because they don't really provide anything more than improved looks over the stock sport brakes.

Most BBK provide very marginal street stopping distance benefits.

There are other benefits beyond pure stopping distance.
...such as cooler running due to the larger mass
& also, better modulation.

With the larger 14" rotors you definitely have much better mechanical advantage over our stock sports.
IMO, the difference is more about the OE pads.

We still need a few more people. If anyone knows someone with a G37 or 370Z that either has or wants to upgrade to the Akebono calipers, let them know about our sign up list.
