Does your GTSPEC strut bar rub?

Simple Poll: Does your GTSPEC front upper strut bar rub and if so, on the engine cover or hood liner?

Yes, but it's very minor.
I really don't care if there are a few scratches on it,
I want the bracing.

On mine it rubs both.
I have it so it barely touches the hood, but it has marked the engine cover slightly as well.

I don't have any of the braces either (yet) but how does it rub? does it touch the ground?

Where's the cheapest place to get one?.... and don't say HPAutoworks.
If they're the cheapest, I'll settle for second cheapest.

Under braces are no problem (well maybe if you're in the weeds )

With the STB, there is just so very little clearance across the top of the engine,
it's almost impossible not to rub a bit.

i have a 05 coupe, and mine rubs on the liner, it sucks because there is residue left on the bar from the rubbing

@ like 60% height it doesn't rub,

there's a small clearance. if you want to adjust it, just put a drop of wax on the bar and close it, repeat until it doesn't touch the hood liner.

I got mine to fit without touching the engine or the hood liner.

Mine rubs on my hood liner...no biggie though. As InTgr8r wrote, I'd much rather have the extra bracing

I had no idea there was so many rubbing issues with the brace, however I can't say that it has changed my mind with wanting one at all. Everything sounds very minor.

That is a really good tip, I am going to have to use that when I end up with my brace. Thank you mw08G35S

There's also a DIY on lowering the engine cover a tad.

Ill be installing mine tomorrow afternoon.

im curious to see pics of the rubbing damage after time, both on the car and liner/engine cover. I am pretty sure I can deal with the rubbing on the liner only if the wear/tear is confined to the liner. I dont want any finish damage on my newly powdercoated bar.
