Problems with Cracked TPMS. Need Help.

So i was in need of new tires, and i decided to get winter tires (Dunlop WS 3D if anyone cares). I go to a local garage/family friend to change out my tires. i get a call saying that my TPMS has cracks and that one of the sensors is badly cracked to a point where it maybe malfunctional. The guy already had the tire on the rim therefore was not able to inspect the sensor. In my mind, i think he could have cracked the sensor while removing the old tire and installing the new tire. Could i get this replaced under warranty? any advice and help would be appreciated. thanks.

From: Waltham Ma,
You know there is a TSB/recall on this. The dealer should swap them for free..

I think you'd be out of luck, no way to prove the tire shop didn't damage the sensor. I'm sure the dealer would get the green light to deny the claim once they se the tire's been replaced outside their dealership.

^ I agree.
If it was the OE set up & the sensor failed, then OK.
But not after a reinstall, those things are very delicate.

If the shop knew it was damaged, why did they finish the install????

I'm not sure if it's going to be that easy b/c they cannot verify if it's defective or someone broke it. If they replace it for free, that's great...if they don't, don't jump up and down like crazy.

I tried searching but couldnt come up with any recall on the TPMS. I know people were having some problems with the light but was it concerning with the cracking of the pressure sensor?

if there was a recall, shouldnt my dealership send out a notice informing me of a TSBon the sensors? i got one for the key fob.

not sure about that one.

but i see everyone's point. I would need some luck if there was a TSB and the dealership would agree to swap them out for free, or else up sh*ts creek.

I think TSBs are different than recalls, The key fob issue may have been a recall if I remember correctly. TSBs are to be performed if a customer experiences a certain issue (not notified by Infiniti) but recalls are more related to safety or an item that may leave you stranded (this is why all the affected customers are notified by mail) was my take on the difference between the two.
