Looks like it's available for pre-order/group buy, will likely take a few months for production. Have any of you guys seen chatter about this? I don't see any here or over on MyG37.

I thought the consensus (even from RB IIRC) was that the weight saving from a 2pc rear wasn't as substantial as the saving netted from the front, so it wasn't "worth" it?

It's been posted in the vendor section for a long time.
They were delayed several times.
IIRC latest word is spring (maybe)

That's why I gave up & went with Stoptechs.
They're a tad lighter than OE & slotted & price is good.

oops, my bad.
I didn't read the "rear" part.

...Yeah, what San said, the rears are hard to justify for the cost.
There's not much weight to be saved because of the parking brake hub.

Fronts are where the fat gets trimmed.

That's what i've read too, about the weight savings on the rears, or lack thereof. But even a couple of pounds would be nice, if possible.

I'm on the list for the fronts, but the more i read about RB's offering, plus the delays, the more i'm having second thoughts.

Biggest issue so far, and primarily because they seem to answer every question i have about the rotors except for this one point, is the rotors preference of one pad material over the other (they recommend Hawk).

I am hoping to use Carbotech's for ease of pad swapping between street and track, moving up the scale as needed, but it looks like this isn't a compatible pad for their metal.

Also, they also didn't answer my question about how to properly resurface the rotors if needed between pad material changes.

I don't see what difference pads will make .
Maybe they like to recommend Hawk because they know they're not too aggressive with rotor wear = fewer customer service issues.
(same would apply to any rotor though)

It's not so much the rotor wear, their stuff is rather hard. But, incompatible pads tend to leave more deposit. Carbotech XP10's are considered by many to be race pads, but apparently even that is too soft for their rotors.

I only brought up the resurfacing portion because all of Carbotech's offerings are compatible with each other, i could use Bobcats in the morning and swap to XP's for HPDE, then perhaps AX for Auto-x and back to Bobcats without having to resurface the rotors.

If multiple high-speed stops were not a factor, none of these really matters. (i.e. strictly a daily driver).

There's not much savings for the rear because the rears just aren't that large or heavy to begin with.

^ agreed, not as heavy as the fronts,
but the Akeb rears are 13.8" & not exactly bedroom slippers either.
