What exhaust should I buy...

I am stuck on what exhaust combination to purchase and need some thoughts\recommendation. This is for an 08 G35XS and have a $1K limit. I am looking for a good sound (no drone) with some HP gains.

Also - Any recommendation on places to purchase would be great!!!

Option #1
Tanabe Medallion Axleback with Berk HFC keeping stock piping.

Option #2
Invidia Cat back exhaust. - Anyone know if they sell the tips without the blue titanium color?

invidia... both are going to give you about the same gains... i agree the blued tips are pretty gross looking. you should be able to get others.

Invidia cat back + HFCs will give you the most gains. Personally I would waste my time with the Tanabe axle back if you're looking for gains as it doesn't do much. The choke points in the stock exhaust is the cats and the Y-pipe. The Invidia cat back will fix the Y-pipe choke point by using an X-pipe design. It also looks better than stock and is lighter too. HFC's will fix the second choke point and that is the stock cats.

I have a G35xS and wanted the invidia Q300 exhaust but after much searching I found out that the invidia exhaust doesn't fit the awd version of the sedan because one of the pipes hit the transfer case up front. So if you have any luck otherwise please let me know. Now I'm going with the Fast Intentions exhaust it's a little pricey but I guess I will wait to get a little more money and buy that one.

Invidia offers just regular stainless steel tip on the gemini cat back.

+1000 FI!! I love mine!! i thought it was too quiet at first but after about 500-1000 miles on it got so much throatier and deeper. and NO Drone. Call Tony at Fast intentions and tell him what you are working with. he may be able to work something out for you.

I didn't know they dont fit the X thats, wow thats lame good thing i live in Fla . W/ the invidia there is literally no rasp through any RPM after they are warmed up. Also when its cold and you get on it 4K>rpm's it almost sounds like a little supercharger as it pulls away from you. As for selling it w/o i cant help you, you can always grap a polish and go to town here's a DIY

There was a thread about the Invidia I posted in a while back and someone said they were ordering it for their X or whatnot, I'll see if I can find it. I also read though that it hits the transfer case but idk for sure.

edit: rofl, Sunny it was you who said you were going to buy it for the X haha
