Which all-season tire? 19x8 245/40/19

Ive got a new set of wheels 5Zigen ZR+ 520 Pro Racer (Gun Metal)

Now I just need some tires. After having the Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S, I need something without the horrific road noise and vibration. At 20mph, these tires literally vibrate everything on the interior (07 G35s Sedan) and the noise is unbearable.

At this point Id sacrifice some performance for an all out smooth quiet ride.

What do you recommend out of the list at tire rack?
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...r=19&x=11&y=15

Would you recommend anything else not listed that maybe discount or belletire would have?

Thanks

I have the Pilot Sport A/S Plus in 245/40/19 and think they are great. Nice grip, comfortable ride, quiet. I only have about 1000 miles on them and hope they don't get loud with age like every Kumho I've owned.

+1 on the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. They are excellent in the rain and havea treadwear of 500!

I'll be getting them when my tires go bad. Bridgestones will be lucky to get 12,500 miles out of them.

I now have Michelin PS2's. Best tires I've ever owned.

If your looking for something cheap, look at Falken 452's, General Exclaim's, Hankook Ventus V12 EVO's.

Yes, I need an A/S tire.

I was talking to the manager at a Belletire and he was recommending Goodyear RSA or Bridgestone Potenza RE92A for tires on the cheaper end. I've read nothing but bad reviews on tire rack so Im not sure how he's suggesting these.

I mentioned the continental extreme contact DWS and he said they aren't as good as they market them to be but the reviews say they are good.

Im very confused and not sure which was to go. I dont want to end up with something as horrible as the eagle f1 a/s that I have now.

the RSA's are the oem tires that come on the base/journey/x and they suck!!! They are probably cheap for that reason, don't get them!

DO NOT GET GOODYEAR EAGLE RSA'S.

I just replaced a set of RSA's. They are the bottom of the pile when it comes to tires. They are noisy, horribly dangerous in the rain and have less than average grip in dry weather. There is a reason why they are cheap. Also, when they wear to around 50%, the compound is actually harder making them more noisy with less grip. FACT.

My coworker just recently replaced his Pilot Sport A/S cause he didn't like the noise on his Cadillac STS. He replaced them with Kumho Ecsta LX's and is now a happy man. They really did make a difference in noise.

To be honest I have not heard one bad thing about the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. They are an asymmetrical tire, so you get a great comfortable ride and for the price they are great. They were mainly built for BMW and Mercedes, such as the 3series and 5series, the same with the C-class and the E-class. The tire is just what you are looking for great all season tire at a reasonable price. The Pilot Sport is the best all season tire out, with that comes the high price. I am a manager at a Tire shop and we put a lot of these tires on and we ask the customers how they like them and I get nothing but positive responses. Hope this helps a little.

I just read a great review in the current Super Street Magazine about the Continental DWS.

I wish I had experience with those tires.

Here's some link which may help you.

I replaced Goodyear Eagle RSA's with Conti Extreme Contact DWS tires two weeks ago on my '06x. The ride is definitely smoother, and the wet traction is awesome, but the improvement in road noise is not what I had hoped for. They're not loud, just not much quieter than the RSAs. The DWS is supposed to be excellent in the snow for an AS tire, but we haven't had any new snow here since I bought the Continentals so no first hand experience there yet.

I had to have the DWS tires ordered and wait a few days for arrival. In fact the first discount tire store I called about them said it would take several weeks to get them minimum. I called another discount tire and the manager there said 3 days, so I bought them. I suspect the guy at Belletire is just trying to talk you into something he has in stock and can sell you right away.

I'm sure Nirad bought tires already, but as far as the Yokohama AVID ENVigors...they are a very nice, quiet, and smooth ride on my standard 04 sedan. I wanted the Conti Extremecontact DWS, but Tirerack was sold out of them. The Envigors are much better than the YK420s I had on the car, which lasted about 50k miles. I would highly reccomend them unless you have handling performance at the top of your list--they are a great all-around tire, and I am very happy. We will see how long they last.
