DIY brake job

Hi all,

Time to replace the brakes all around on my 2007 G35x. Are there any sources here or elsewhere online showing how to perform this job at home? I consider myself very mechanically inclined, and have performed this type of work many times on various cars, but I'm always leery of doing so the first time without instructions since there can be those little nuances that bite you in the *** without documentation.

Any sources for the brake R&R instruction?

Thanks in advance!

Joe

I just did mine for the first time ... (with the help of a buddy of mine).. It's not that bad. It's just like any other brake disc set up. I would recommend having the service manual handy for torque specs. Good luck.

If you still need help doing it go to http://infinitihelp.com/ click on knowledgebase, DIY and select your vehicle. They should have video on a bunch of stuff including rear brakes since the rear suspension could get a little tight. It certainly helped me at the time. If you need help on selecting and ordering parts feel free to browse my posts or PM me here and on MY350. Good luck.

The brakes on the Infiniti are some of the easiest I have ever worked on. Very basic and straight forward. If you have done this kind of work on other cars, this will be a breeze.
No surprises, front or rear.

^ I actually think they are a bit simpler thanks to the hex bolt rather than a regular bolt, this hex bolt is easier to loosen and tighten. (at least on the sports not sure about the X or Journey)
