Is Running?

Is there any downfall from running 30 series tires on all, even when giving them a shot of nitrogen? Well there be big issues with running too low of a profile in the fronts?

To compensate for overall diameter changes, a lower profile is usually the only way to go... but question is, how big of a wheel will you be using? Recommended size for, say, a 20" rear is in the range of 275/30/20's. I think that's a bit too wide for the front.

You'll be putting extra stress in the steering mechanism from having to move such a wide (and heavy) set-up. It will change the balance and handling dynamics of the car, and hitting any significant debris on the road will likely damage the rim.

The fronts will be 245/30/ 20. Discount tire tells me that their computer show them that 30 series is what comes up recomended...

There are only two cars in the suspension.doc that are running 30 all the way around and now I am a little concerned that I should not run them in the fronts...

What are the spec of your wheels? If they're 20x8.5 in the front you should be running 245/35 there's no reason to run 245/30. As for the rears, if they are 8.5 wide also then you are fine running 245/35 all around. If they are staggered and let's say 10-10.5" wide in the back, then you can run 275-285/30 without any problems.

They are 20x8.5 F & 20x9.5 R.

I actually called a different Discount Tire and they said that using 35 series in the front and 30 on the rear would be fine... They also will be selling them $27 cheaper for the set.. I will be getting the Continental Extreme Contact DSW all-season tires.
