Question Opinion on Tires

What's up everyone! I've had my 07 G35S Sedan for almost a month now and I've been needing to get new tires from the start. It has the original tires (Potenza RE050A) and there's about 36k on them, which explains a lot of in-cabin noise when I drive.

I'm looking for an honest opinion on type of tire (summer or all-season) and any suggestions for tires for a decent price. Here's some info about my G's driving conditions:

-I live in San Jose, CA, where it can get pretty rainy sometimes, but rain at the most
-I use my car for about a 20-mile commute each day (an even mix of freeway and city), in which I don't drive too aggressively unless I need to
-I'll take corners hard here and there, just cause I can, but not all the time
-I'm not really planning on going to the snow

On a separate thread, another user recommended the Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum due to high tread rating (600) and a very quiet ride. I've also heard good things about the Potenza RE760's. I'm kind of leaning towards those 2 due to the low price on tirerack as well.

But before I pull the trigger, I just wanted to get the insight of the very knowledgeable G35driver community. Thanks in advance everyone!

I have an 08 G35S sedan with the Kumhos Ecsta LX Platinums. I went with them because the value (price and good traits). However, I would try something else before Kumhos again.. Their quiet, and OK in terms of responsiveness and traction. They are wearing quicker than I thought. I put 25K on them so far and doubt that I will get more than 10K more miles on the rears and about 20K on the fronts. Still better than the 18K I got on the OEMS. They do change the character of the ride from sporty and responsive to lexus-like xcar.

If you live in an area where there is no snow, I highly reccomend Summer only tires. According to tirerack the best one is probably Bridgestone RE760. I am prividing a link of the survey. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...=Sport+Package

Than again every car is different, so other tires may work better with the car. I myself live in StL. So we get snow here for about a month or two. That is why I get Ultra High Performance All Season tires. I hope this helps.

I'm considering the new Yokohama Avid ENVigors as my next set of tires. I read on tirerack reviews that these are great tires except that some people have had problems having these wheels balanced and aligned. There is vibration between 50 - 70 mph. Anyone have experience with these new tires on their G35?

I'm also considering the ENVigors. Please post if you have any thoughts on these. TireRack rated them #1 (two-way tie with some Sumitomo tires) in a four-way test they conducted.

That's funny, Im torn between the Yokohama's and the Sumitomo's, I have not read a bad review about the Sumitomo's. I think I read the same review about the Yokohama vibrating after 50-70 mph, I dont think thats a tire issue, possibly rim defect or even a bad allignment/balancing. So anyone pull the trigger on the Yokohama's?

I just got the RE760 for my front wheels. Keep in mind that I have owned them for only 12 hours. I like them. Quieter than the 33000 miles old RE50 original tires. Feels a little softer and more comfortable if that matters to you, it did to me. Tread pattern is just as cool as the RE50. The only issue is that it does not have a raised rim protector. The bead is recessed which offers slight protection but not as much as the raised and it doesn't look as nice but for $70 less I can't complain too much. I can't tell you how they perform yet since I drive like an old lady and it isn't raining.

They look like picture 3.
