Potenza RE050A PP or ExtremeContact DW

I'm going to put new tires on my 2007 G sedan in a couple days. I'm split between two tires: the Bridgetsone Potenza RE050A Pole Positions or the Continental ExtremeContact DW. What are your thoughts, recommendations, experiences, ideas, etc.?! Thanks!

The re050s have very good handling but the treadwear is only 140. With good driving youll go like 20k but if you drive spirited (like i do) theyl die fast. I have 6k miles in them and my rears have like 3/32 left.

I think you're confusing the RE050A's with the RE050A PP's. The PP's have a 280 tread wear rating.

The Continental ExtremeContact DW's have a softer sidewall for a more comfortable ride (if that's possible on a low profile tire), but on the flipside have a mushier steering feel. Depends on what's important to you I guess.

+1 my Conti DWs seem to have flexier sidewalls than the BFG A/S Supersports I had on before but seem stickier. Hard to compare to the stock Bridgestones, which are a distant memory. The DWs grip very well, are great in even heavy rain, and were very quiet initially. Now with 10K miles they have about 1/2 tread left and are getting louder. But still very satisfied with them.

EZ-G,

What tire sizes do you have on your car?

I don't have experience with the DW, but all the reviews i've read say they're very good tires and last quite a bit.

I'm looking for "daily" wheels/tires in 18s, non-staggered that i can x-rotate myself (without having to unmount/mount tires) -- the DW allows for this, maximizing tread life.

I love them, they grip the road like hell and they have a 400 Treadware rating.
