Stock rim replacement for G35S Sedan

I figure this must have been asked before, but I've been reading and searching for 2 hours and can't find the answer to this question....

Stock rims on my car are:
Front: 18x7.5" w/ 45 mm offset
Rear: 18x8.5" w/ 50 mm offset

I can't seem to find a single nice looking aftermarket rim that comes in both 18x7.5 and 18x8.5 sizes. The exception is Enkei's PF01s, but I wanted something in more of a mesh style. Here's a link to the PF01s if you are curious http://www.enkei.com/pf01.html (these have almost the exact stock offsets too). I have a set of Blizzaks for the winter, and instead of taking them off of the stock rims and putting the summer tires back on, I was thinking of buying some new 18" rims. I live in Chicago, and with the potholes we have really didn't want to switch to 19" (plus I'd like to keep the summer tires I already have).

So, if I can't find 18x7.5" and 18x8.5" in the same rim, should I go 18x8 in the front and 18x9 in the rear? Tires are stock sizes, front: 225/50-18, rear: 245/45-18.

I want mesh without screws (never liked the fake multipiece wheel thing).

Was thinking about RPM R05's http://www.wheelstudio.com/view-whee...h-polished-lip

18x8 with 38 mm offset front (-7mm from stock offset)
18x9 with 38 mm offset rear (-12 mm from stock offset)

(less offset than stock moves the wheel out, right?)

Think this will work?

Thanks.

finding stock specs will be a pain and not recommended imo since the stock offsets are really weak imo, and yes less offset moves wheel out, check out this site to get an idea of how much the wheel would stick out further, 2nd gen G's have factory rolled rear fenders that allows a bit more aggressive offsets. Moving to 8" and 9" width should not be an issue with most tires since 225 should fit 8 easy and 245 should fit 9" depending on the manufacturer, you should be able to go to their site and check the max and min rim width for each tire just to make sure.

Other than that the offset is up to you depending on how aggressive you would like to go, check out this file for some ideas of offsets on our cars.

some people here can tell you right off the bat if the offsets will work on our car, but for me i measured mine using the above site to assure fitment, hopefully someone will drop by and confirm those offsets or you can measure them within a few minutes. 38 for front does sound ok to me but should be confirmed.

There's also lots of tire offset calculators on the internet. 1010 tires has a good one that I used when I was getting used to offsets on the G. Use that in conjunction with the file kool yaar references...

I decided to not do a staggered setup with my aftermarket wheels and went with 18x9 +30 all around and they fit.. perfect, no rubbing and they are flush with the fenders. I'm lowered on eibach pro-kits and no issues, even with 5 people sitting in the car for a 25+ mile drive. I'm also running 255/40/18 just to give you an idea of what can fit under our fenders.

There was also a marked improvement in the handling for the better, turn-in is much quicker now. Feels more like a sports car then a large sedan.

^ If you went with an 18x8 or 18x8.5 and lowered the offset would you still have the same look as your 18x9 with 30?

Pretty much. With those widths, depending on the tire sizes, you can get away with +20 to +25 offsets on most wheels.

It has settled a little more since then, but it tucks nicely under the fender but appears flush.

any chance you can put a pic up thats a side view before you lowered it,I am looking to do the same but I am not going to lower it because of the roads where I live. If I do it will only be a small amount like an inch, also if I am buying wheels from tire rack can I buy the spacers from them too?
Do spacers cause any extra wear on the car?

MRR GT-1 comes in stock sizes. I just bought a set from a vendor on here and they will be here tmwr. I wanted rims with a lip, but was fine with staying with 18". So I got the same staggered set up with a 38/35 offset

Out of your choices, I like the Enkei's, kinda remind me of the OEM coupe wheels.

I'm kind of in the same boat as the original poster and looking for options as well. Looking to replace the factory wheels with either 18's or 19's. I found a set of 19's that are 19x8.5 for all 4 with a 32 offset.

another set was a 19x8.5 front (+20) and 19x9.5 rear (+25)

Would either of these options work do you think?

I think you're safe with the first option, the second one might hit the fenders unless you dial in more negative camber.

alright...so the 19x8.5 for all 4 with a 32 offset should be okay then?

What would you do for tire sizes?

(sorry to highjack thread, though it may help the original poster lol)
