how to remove location pin and cover?
I'm trying to fix my brake pads (shims on wrong side), and going through the FSM I am trying to follow these instructions - originally I just took the whole caliper off, but this -should- be much easier:
2. Remove the protector and location pin.
Well on the bottom of the back of the caliper I see the protector - Its a little cap, and I took that off. But I cant' figure out how to get the protector off? The inside of the location pin has a 7mm pattern in it, but I can't seem to turn it either way, and the 'protector' seems to be held on by the location pin? I can't tell. Anyone know? It's very sketchy here
the pieces I am talking about are pictured as 6, 7, and 8.

answer to my own question.. I used a racketing 7mm 3/8" socket wrench - just take cap off and turn it. I was trying to use a cheapo l-shape 7mm wrench and it wasn't cutting it.
