Steering Becomes Unpredictable While Braking

Hello all. I've had my '07 sport sedan for about a year now and it's always had this issue. I'm curious to see if anyone else has experienced it...

When coming to a full stop (from any speed) if the road is the slightest bit bumpy or uneven the steering wheel goes nuts. It becomes very twitchy and difficult to control. I know it's not warped rotors or unbalanced wheels because I've had both problems and fixed them. In this case the steering wheel doesn't vibrate like it does w/ bad balance or rotors; it feels like it's being yanked out of my hands.

The only potential causes I can think of are bad tie rods/other worn front suspension joints or poor alignment. Car has 53k miles on it and I'm thinking I may need new struts soon, but not sure if that would cause this problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My 2006 sedan does this sometimes when braking on rough roads. I don't hardly notice though and I am at 85k miles. Bad tie rods would lead to alignment issues. Worn suspension would lead to weird tire wear. Maybe the road surface is just grooved enough for the tire to want to track it.

First thing should be to get it on the lift to get the suspension components(struts, tie rods etc) checked out and then get an alignment, hopefully that takes care of it else report back.

This happens to me too but as long as I'm holding onto the wheel it's really not that bad. I figured my suspension is already fvcked since I've been dropped on eibachs with 20's for close to 30k miles now lol.

What size rims do you have on the car? I noticed that my car pulls with grooves on the road at times when I went from the stock 17" wheels to the M45 19" wheels. Also noticed under braking with grooves in the road.

^ This. I had wobbling bc of bad toe and the ECU went into limp mode shortly thereafter. RESPECT the alignment lol....
