245/45/19 on g37s?

hey guys-- been running the hankook v12s (245/40/19 x4) for the past year.. need new tires and the shop recommended the Yokohama Envigors because i wanted something with a little bit more tread life and a little higher sidewall for ride comfort. however im not sure if i'll have rubbing issues. does anyone want to chime in with their expertise/experience?

i should clarify-- that im running the g37s rims on my g35 sedan w tanabe nf210s. so the rims are staggered but i prefer to run the same size all around so i can flip the tires.

did you wear down your V12's in only one year?! How many miles you have on them?

FYI, your title says "245/45/19 on g37s?". Did you intend that? Was it a typo or an actual consideration for your replacements? Just so you know, there's a whole inch difference in the diameter of those compared to stock.

I was thinking the same thing, especially why you would want a taller sidewall?

@drivethefive - its been roughly 18 months--- logged around 15k miles on them-- flipped them once-- they are pretty much bald at this point.

and yes, i wanted to try a taller sidewall for ride comfort. the 40s wasnt bad- but wanted to try something a little thicker if it was even possible.

so does anyone know if i will have fitment/rubbing issues?

tell you what, I can fix your problem.
1) send me your g37s rims
2) I'll send you my stock g35 sport rims 18" - now you can get a taller sidewall of the correct diameter

First off, I can't speak to the fitment/rubbing issues, although my hunch is that they would still fit ok. More important (from my way of thinking) is the "gearing" change you will be effecting with the taller tires. You will loose acceleration off the line and throw your speedo off (reading too slow). I hate to say it, but unless you went with some really skinny tires, you aren't going to get into a 45 series with those 19" rims. If it's truly important to you, the 18" option is actually worth considering.

Man I was looking at those Hankook's, same model, same size, but if I'm gonna get 15k on them I'll pass. cmo23, do you drive obnoxious all of the time? just trying to find out why tread life was so poor for you.

Not too sure 45 series will make that much of a difference in ride quality. You should buy some coils with the soft setting
feels like ur on a cloud !

drivethe5- i dont drive that aggressive-- def no racing or drifting. i am lowered on the tanabe's however so there is def some camber (even the stock tires wear with camber if i remember correctly) to sum it up, i never turn off my VDC. 75% of my driving is going 70-80mph on the fwy. i dont know exactly how many miles i got out of those tires. but it was 18months-- and somewhere between 15-20k miles. i would have squeezed a little but more out of them had i flipped them earlier (i flipped after 1yr). the tire shop i got them from did confirm that 20k miles is about where those tires top out for most of their customers.

i ended getting the same size tires this time around again (245/40/19 x4)-- but went with the Envigors. a little bit more expensive- but the tire shop said i would get at least 30k miles out of them.

15k? Something's amiss. How's your toe? I got well beyond 25k on my other set of these tires with about 5-6mm of tread left.

If you only got 15k out of them, there's a chance you won't get 30k out of those Envigors either.

The taller setup would have helped here. RPM's wouldn't be as high. I don't like cruising above 75mph because of the gearing.

Haha, true. I got 15k out of my last set of 'kooks, but I drive like a madman
