Does anybody know the height of the wheel wells on the new or low mileage G35x '07'-'08 with the stock springs (it is meausured on the picture)?


I have G35x 2007, 64K miles and I started to scratch the bottom of my car where all last years I could easily pass (yes, we heave horrible roads here), so I wonder if my springs are maybe softened and lost some of the clearance (and all my struts were changed recently).

I have 28 inches at the front and 27 1/8 at the rear.

Info found in the service manual:

G35x 2007-2008, 225/55/17

Front: 28.66"
Rear: 28.46"

I beleive, I need to change my springs soon, as I lost 0.3" at the front and 1.0" rear!

how do you think, should I change the top conical rubber seats of the rear springs? they are rather expensive (25$ each) and I'm not sure if they can wear at all:


anyway I bought the bottom rubber seats as they are cheap (10$ each).

I find it crazy that you are rubbing the bottom of your car. Do you know exactly what part is rubbing? Maybe you have an exhaust hanger that has come loose? Looking at your front wheel gap from your first picture, you seem to be sitting up pretty high. I have a 2010 that has stock heights of around 28.5" front and rear and I am dropped 1.25" so I am sitting at about 27.25" which is CLOSE to where you are and I don't drag on anything. Granted, I go slow over speedbumps but even when driving through rough construction zones I have no issues. Maybe the springs are fatigued and allowing too much travel also? Were the shocks you purchased Infiniti shocks? I don't think anybody else makes shocks for the AWD V36 G.

Lol, I just live in Ukraine, we almost have NO roads here, so it is easily to scratch even Ford F150

And yes, I do have new stock struts (changed about 10-15K miles ago) and sure the springs are the reason why I scratch.

Anyway, waiting for info, if I should change the top rear springs seat bushings?
