Looking for new shocks

So my car has 78K on it. So it probably needs new shocks sometime soon. And i am looking to replace a few parts to see if it fixes a issue. Should i just go with a stock shock..or is there something else out there for a good price that is good?

I'm at 81K and with the ride my car produces I KNOW my car needs new ones. Im just stumped on what I should do as well. KYB has them for the X's but that's about it for aftermarket. So you have 3 options: OEM, KYB, or Coil overs.

Ive read a few places that KYB's will produce a crappy ride so Im hesitant on getting them. I had the GR2's on my last car and the ride was harsh but it was also lowered 2 inches.

At this point I don't know what to do. I kind of wish I hadn't gotten the X lol

Parts for the X do seem to be lacking. I may just go with OEM. Have you looked into what OEMs cost?

As for me, I heard that KYB GR-2 (Excel-G) are 10-15% stiffer than stock Tokicos, so it would compensate the wear of other suspension parts on 60K+ miles.

Seems to be a good choice!

I cant remember exact prices but I was thinking the fronts were around $150~ each and the rear were right at $100 ~ each. If it were me and I was going to lower the car, it would cost me about the same amount to lower it with springs and new shocks as it would to purchase coil overs and replace everything. That's with out labor though because a friend and I would be doing the work.

Another choice could be shocks from G37xS '11 coupe, it has different shocks (sport tuned) than ordinary G37x coupe, but the same springs.
