Lowering and tire/wheel setup help
Lowering and tire/wheel setup help
I have owned my 2007 g35 for a couple of years and want to freshen it up. I was hoping some folks (suspension and wheel gurus) who have been down this road already could help me out with my setup selection.
Goal
What I am looking for is to lower the vehicle about 1.5 inches while maintaining decent ride quality (daily driver on decent roads in the central Florida area). I am not set on 18" or 19" wheels but I definitely DON'T want the tires to look at all stretched on the wheels. I would like the tires/wheels to look and sit flush or slightly tucked inside the wheel well and I do not want any spacers. My budget is $250 per wheel (not including tire of course
). I also want a setup with no rubbing or needing to pull fenders etc (looks like my 2007 g35 fenders come pre rolled from the factory anyway.).
Current plan (just items I have been leaning towards)
To lower the vehicle I was planning on the Tein H-tech springs with either the eibach or ichiba camber kits (front and rear). Wheel wise is where the most help is needed, as I understand selection here is crucial specifically with regards to wheel width and offset.
The wheels I have been eyeballing are the Tenzo Type-M wheels flat black. These wheels are available in 19x8.5 offset +17 or +45 for the front, 19x10 offset +22 for the rear. While I like the look of these wheels I am concerned the rear sizing may be far too aggressive for what I am after. While tenzo does offer some 18" wheels all the 18"s are only 8" wide which would only leave me with offsets to manipulate in the size range. I am not totally set on this wheel choice and have looked at some similar black spoke wheels by TSW that may have better sizing choices to get the look I am after.
Sorry for the run on post but I have been lurking here for a few weeks and the more I research the more I get a little overwhelmed with with all the choices and information. Any help is greatly appreciated and pictures can be really helpful to show me setups.
Thank you

Well after some more research it looks like I can answer my own question. There is no way to run a 10" wheel on a G sedan without it looking stretched. Seems like a 10" would need at least a 295 tire to not have the stretched look.
So looks like I would be better suited with a 9" wide wheel for the rear with maybe a 275 tire maybe? Offset recommendations with a 9" rear wheel.
Thank you
