I have been reading that Powergrid is the best for sway bar links. Went to their ebay page today to ask some questions and the rep told me they only make rear sway bar links for the AWD. If I was to purchase the Powergrids for the rear, any recommendations for front sway bar links? SPL I've been reading are bad.

These Whitelines look sturdy but people have been complaining that they unscrew...https://www.autoanything.com/suspens...A6664A0A0.aspx. Seems like sway bar links are a problematic decision.

I plan on purchasing a set of front and rear Hotchkis sway bars for the vehicle. Recommendations on what to do about the front?

I just put a Moog link on the front driver side of my 06x. It's the same Moog part number. It came apart the first time I jacked the car up. I don't know if anybody else does this but I've raised the car from the rear pinch weld jack point high enough to remove both front and rear wheels at the same time. I do this all the time like winter wheel changeover. But when I did this after putting on the new end link, the ball joint popped apart. Not sure if it would have popped apart if I had jacked up from the front jack point. Never had a problem with what I suspect was probably the original oem link on the car. I bought a mevotech to replace it but haven't put it on yet.

 

Side jacking the car I'm not surprised you're breaking endlinks, you're literally putting half the entire weight of the vehicle on a component that was never meant for that kind of abuse.

Center jack points exist for a reason.

i have used moog On Hotchkis sway bars in 08 G35x and my current 07 G35X. They get the job done.

 

So what's the deal then with all the raving about the adjustable links if these non-adjustable ones get the job done. Or is it this the difference: that one gets the job done and the adjustable ones are indeed better?

 

If it's a track car or lowered significantly then you want adjustable ones. If it's a daily driver that's only slightly lowered then use the non-adjustable ones.

 

You can preload a corner for unidirectional tracks with adjustable ones. Mostly for dialing in better lap times which 99.9% of G35s don't need to worry about.

 

Got it. Thanks for the info. So do you think going with Powergrid in the rear is worth the $160 for some spirited driving? I have not lowered the car and suspension is stock. Might be lowering the car about an inch, much later on though. Moog front and rear?

 

I have SPL front and rear endlinks paired with my Eibach sways. They've been great. I run SPL products when I can. What are the negatives you've hear about the endlinks?

I have read from multiple threads that its recommended for sturdier endlinks with aftermarket sways, so any reputable brand will work, Whiteline being a good cost effective and quality piece.

 

Pretty sure they don't make those for the X model that the OP is discussing, front links are different on the AWD models.

 

Ah gotcha, I definitely glossed over that detail. But the rears should be the same. I thought it’s only the front suspension that differed?

 

Yeah rear will be identical.

 

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm just gonna go with the Moog links for now. I can't afford to pay 300 bucks right now for these little things...that's just crazy.

 

You could never do better than those Power Grid adjustable end links! Running those is better than running OE links with good aftermarket sways! I tried other end links only to have them fail, Power Grid links are worth every $$!
