Front lower subframe replacement

Planning on replacing my front lower subframe (I think that's the correct name) during the winter months (among other suspension stuff) and I'm trying to track down the part number.
It's the tubular frame looking piece that goes all the way out to the body on each side. I've found it in a bunch of places for the V35 chassis, but no luck finding it for the V36. I'm sure someone has swapped it before and knows the number. I imagine Cleric will chime in with the info, he seems to be a walking encyclopedia on these things

Since you said the "tubular" section it's probably the front subframe BRACE that highly susceptible to rust.

Should be Nissan part number 544B2-EG300 for the V36 platform but double check before ordering, eBay is usually a good place to source them, I'm not totally sure if there's a difference between the RWD and AWD but I THINK they're the same.

Unless your existing one is actually rusted to the point of MISSING metal you can just sandblast the one you have and prime/paint with either underbody coating or bed liner and it will last forever.

That's the one, thanks.

Ok, so I tracked down one in pretty good shape for a great price (under $200 shipped). Now I'm curious what the best way to install it is going to be. I'm extremely paranoid, since it's a brace, to just crawl under there and drop the old one off and slap the new one on. What would be the best way to do it? It's already blasted and primed, just need to throw on some underbody coating and it will be ready to install.

That stay brace isn't bearing the load from anything, it's just to keep body flex minimized. Keep your front on jackstands and put the service Jack on the front lift point if you're paranoid

I'm the same way sometimes, for YEARS I used 6x6 wood dunnage to support vehicles or as a safety. I still do sometimes as a supplementary support.

I was only paranoid due to not knowing how integrated it was structurally. Now that I know its just for rigidity I'm much less concerned about it. Just a normal jack and stand of the front, easy day.
