interesting. i just want a sound increase and wonder if this will do it for such a low cost.

any loss in power?

This is a neat idea.. Best bang for your buck.

The cat concept is interesting. Do you still pass emissions?

No loss in power at all, if anything you do get a slight gain but the noise is really where its at. I think I am going to wait until after winter for the K&Ns tho. They will be starting to salt around here and the dust can be easily sucked up by less restrictive filters.

omfg i just did this ... and wow the sound is amazing !!
I didnt cut as much as the whole front but about a hand size cut next to the stock little vent hole.

wow ... and i did feel like the car accelerated a bit quicker ...

Used a big drill bit to start a hole, then used a saws all (reciprocating saw). Took less than 5 mins per box lol

kind of confused where to cut, complete noob here is it the side of the air box facing towards you when standing in front of the engine bay?

Yeah its just the side facing you, think about the way the air would flow in...straight from the front of the car
