DIY: Replace Your HID Headlight Bulb
DIY: Replace Your HID Headlight Bulb
I only saw one post on how to change the light bulb but the photos wouldn't open so I figured i'd do another for you guys while i'm sitting here. As always i'm not responsible for any damage you do to your vehicle but this is easy enough that you shouldn't have to worry.
Here we go...
first peel back the fender liner.

remove the weather proof cover. There's an arrow on it saying which way to turn it to remove it

Remove the harness on the bulb by turning it slightly to the left and pulling it straight off.

Squeeze the two retainer clips and pulling the slightly forward and they will release. Obviously the bulb is already removed in this photo but it shows the retainer assembly clearly.

Remove the bulb and install the new one. Take care not to touch the glass since the oils on your skin will likely ruin the bulb. Note that the bulb is notched/keyed. This key needs to be at the 12 o'clock position or the bulb won't sit flat. Don't reinstall the harness yet, this photo is just for reference.

Now with the bulb in squeeze the two retainer clips together and push the retainer forward and release. Both sides should go into their holding cutouts. I'm sorry I don't have a better photo of this but just take a look at it *before* you remove the bulb in the above steps and you'll see exactly where they should be.
Once you've put the retainer back then reinstall the harness. Remember it will be slightly to the left (the way you took it off) then turn it to the right and it will click in place. Now reinstall the cover and fender liner and you're done. Hopefully this will help a few of you.
