Front Cross-Member Support Cross Bar replacement
Anyone replaced their Front Cross-Member Support Cross Bar? My G35X Sport cross bar is about half rusted through at the flat plate portion on both driver and passenger sides of the cross bar.

It's like 10 bolts, various sizes I think 12, 13, and 17 or 19mm? Nothing too challenging, Spray everything down a few days prior with PB Blaster penetrating spray, then again before you start to take the bolts off ESPECIALLY the nuts at the point where the compression rod is.
If the car is on jackstands you don't need to support the compression rod but I usually do anyways just out of habit. If you're working in a pit you should definitely support the compression rod, I don't know what would/could happen if you didn't, I've never done it that way.
You'll probably need an impact wrench, especially for the compression rod nuts.
I'm not 100% sure but I think the 2013+ batwings will fit as well, it's all V36 chassis cars and I don't think they actually redesigned the mounting locations but the newer 2013 style looks like it should be a lot more resistant to future corrosion due to there being so much more metal.
Either way I would paint any replacement part with Rustoleum undercarriage spray just to future-proof it from rusting out again in the next decade.

I replaced mine last year when doing my suspension refresh. I found a used one in good condition on eBay for a LOT less than what a new one would cost. In addition to soaking the compression rod nuts with PB Blaster, as Cleric mentioned, I also hit it with a torch for a bit. I've read some bad stories here when the body studs get damaged.
