Reflash ECU for the 07 G35s AT

I'm schedule for a dealership visit this Friday.
Someone please verify with some white papers, bulletins or something that there's actually "fact" a real problem here...

Thank you

There is a real problem, the official TSB is somewhere in here, its a problem with the downhill surging. Some dealers will make you prove, it, others will just reflash. It seems random when there really is a problem based on the car..

BTW...better edit Infiniti before mass ownage occurs...

I've heard the ITB07-045 reflash supersedes the ITB07-028a reflash, so you might try only bringing in ITB07-045.

ITB07-028a - 2007 G35; CRUISE CONTROL SYMPTOMS WHEN TRAVELING DOWNHILL

ITB07-045 - 2007 G35 SEDAN; COLD ENGINE START ISSUES

Download both here (too large for the forum).

All TSB's can be viewed here.

I had my car reflashed to rev C for the ITB07-045 TSB yesterday. My dealer told me that I already had rev B software, which I find strange because my car had the super-aggressive tip-in.

Now the acceleration is MUCH smoother. Ir drives like a normal car, without that "on/off" feeling when accelerating from standstill. HUGE improvement.

Highly recommended!

Looks like everyone agrees that TSB 45 has made throttle tip in less aggressive, but I can't help wondering if the performance curve was changed/sacrificed at all. It's too hard for me to tell by feel (a good sign), but it would sure be reassuring to see pre/post TSB dyno results from the same car, same conditions. Has anyone come across any?

I don't have a dyno, but if I punch it the car still roars and goes. I can also accelerate smoothly from a complete stop, which was NOT a no-brainer before the reflash.

I doubt if it's slower than before, but it would be nice to know.

I must say I am confused about what TSB goes with what problem. What should I tell the dealer, due TSB 45 and hope that the reflash fixes the throttle tip-in problem when that TSB is for cold engine starts.

Just so I understand there is no TSB specific to the throttle issue?

That's correct, but we've all found that TSB 45 improves it. Also, TSB 45 supercedes TSB 28a.

I'd print TSB 45 and bring it with you to the dealer.

I was told the lastest firmware corrected both problems. I decided to wait I like the tippy feel off the line.

If by "latest firmware" you mean something other than TSB 45, is there a TSB for the firmware you were told about?

Only 07's. The 08's already have the updated program.

No lastest TSB 45 will correct TSB 28a for example.

From motortrend.com

"The Infiniti execs I spoke with atPebble say that, based partly on our criticisms, they've cured this shortcoming with a newly programmed ECU for 2008models." We're looking forward to trying the fresh electronics, which should eliminate, as St. Antoine says, "the head-jerk you get when pulling away from a stop."
I loved the car from when it 1st came out but would not buy an 07 based on the overly sensitive throttle. Once I read it was corrected in the 08's I went in and test drove the 08 and it is much better and now I have one . I wanted a luxury car with great performance not a race car with a luxury look.
