My service rep at Infiniti told me today my short ram air intakes were going to in time wear out the mass air flow sensors which will be voided from the factory warranty . What's everyones take on this? Remove them or what? I've got my fun out of them for a year now.

The same amount of air will go past the mass flow sensors no matter what you have in front of them for your car to run right. They will not be "wear out" as long as the air is filtered.

that just pisses me off to hear retarded service writers say **** like that "wearing out" the mass airflow sensor? what from over flow of air? there's a freaking filter in front of it, ugh... so tired of them, the ones in VA tysons really blows. I had alot of similar problems where they don't like to own up to their own cars problems and blame it on an intake or some random crap like that, and who has the time to fight the system? geez...

lmao, then when u get a CEL and your coder reads MAF sensor.....jsut switch out he intake and bring it in for warranty.....seems like that stealership isnt mod friendly. tell them to read sema.org.....they need to PROVE that the intake was the failure of the MAF sensor. almost near impossible.

I took my G for it's first service today and had a little chat with the mechanic changing the oil and such. the car was lifted up and we were looking at the exhaust pipe, so i ask him if an aftermarket pipe would void the warranty and he said: "No it's okay. go ahead and install one, I actually recommend the Stillen pipe cause it sounds better than other ones". He was a really cool dude!

Maybe the service advisor was thinking about the K&N type of oiled filters. The oil supposedy wrecks MAF's (at least that was the case on the Maxima forum).

over-oiled k&n's can gunk up maf's. usually you pull the MAF, throw it in a baggy with some high % rubbing alcohol, shake, and let dry. after a couple times, though, that just doesn't work anymore.

The dealership that I go to actually sell Stillen parts and installs them as well with no warranty issues.
The last time I was there, they were trying to get me to buy the Stillen Exhaust and Intakes.

nice. it's a shame the stillen intakes don't do much in the way of power, but it's a start.

Looks good cosmetically. I can't wait for Technosquare to come out with the chip. That will definitely help with the stillen mods.

Is there a considerable difference in the sound the stillen intakes make? It probably does in the high RPM range.. but how about the low ranges?

Technosquare is coming out with a chip? When? and will this help in brining mods done to the G35 in-line with the ECU?

just use electronic cleaning spray from radio shack. much easier that way and you dont break the sensor from shaking it.....just make sure you get the one that drys out itslef in a couple seconds.

But the Fujita Intake has a dry filter.

Are Fujita intakes "better" than the stilen intakes as a result of the dry filters that can be replaced everytime its time to change em? rather then the reusable oil type that the stillen intakes come with>?
