Question Cobb Tunning Access Port

Hey guys, just been looking through Cobb's website and they have this unit:http://www.cobbtuning.com/products/Default.asp?id=3687.
You guys probably know more about it than me. But do they have anything like this for the 08 G35 Sedan's? Looks like a decent unit but it says no fitments for anything after 04 G35's.

I'm used to using VAG.com for my Audi back home, and it has helped me out a lot by letting me check engine settings and reading error codes, is there a similar unit that I can install in my 08 G35? and is there even an access port for a unit/ laptop to connect into the cars ECU? Not necessarily to change settings but to analyze how the engine is running and to see any difference in performance when fitting aftermarket mods such as air filter and exhausts?

They're working on it, but have been working on it for the past nine months I've been checking. The good news is that they've actually brought one out, but I have no idea when the one of our VQ will arrive. Have checked with them, they just keep saying "soon".

Nice to hear they're working on it. So has anyone tried this on previous models? curious to see if it's any good. From what Meow mix says it should be a good unit. Plus it looks small which is better than carrying a laptop around. Thanks for the feedback G35Now!

Latest non-official update is as follows:

AP is released for the 03-06 350Z in all various varieties
AP is released for the 03-06 G35 both coupe and sedan

In house testing is taking place on the 08 G37 Coupe
In house testing on the 07+350Z (HR)

Don't believe there is any testing yet for the 07+g35 Sedan, although once the g37 is done they should be close

So 2010 sounds around right. Hey Jsmonet which cars did you have the AP on? were they older gen G35s? and how good are they? I'm guessing good enough since you're thinking of getting another one when it comes out

it isnt like utec, but a well known subaru guy is tuning subarus with the access port with much success. My brother in law has spec b legacy and with just a exhaust and an access port tune the car definitely woke up.

MB, last I heard from them they have an '07 sedan in-house, and are working on the AP for us too. Hopefully they're combining it with the release for the HR in the Z.

They said on my350 that it will be out at the end of the year as well as the one for the FI guys.

BTW Where is the access port on the 08 G35s anyway? somewhere underneath the steering wheel? and what does FI stand for?

the work on the hr-motor 350z should apply decently to the hr-motor g35 with little massaging so that's a non-issue.

cobb is notoriously slow at releasing....anything. I had an AP on my wrx and then on my sti and had to wait a while for both.

So any ideas where the access point for our cars are? i.e. Where do you connect the unit into?

Under the dash - you connect it to upload the firmware, and can either leave it connected or then remove it.
